JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Web Manager will provide strategic leadership, oversee district-wide initiatives, and manage the data analytics pertaining to the District website. The Senior Web Manager will play a critical role in ensuring efficient resource allocation and fostering collaboration among staff and stakeholders. The Senior Web Manager requires strong collaborative abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for supporting team members and Departments. Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and web applications and services is essential for succeeding in this role.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Planning and Execution:

• Collaborate with district leadership to develop and implement the district's strategic plan and goals.

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of district-wide initiatives and projects.

• Monitor progress towards strategic objectives and make necessary adjustments to ensure successful outcomes.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the district.

2. Departmental Management:

• Oversee the technical aspects of the District website, ensuring effective resource allocation and utilization.

• Develop and maintain operational systems, tools, and processes, and participate in tactical and strategic development projects

• Make small edits requested by customers, develop plans for completing larger projects, and suggest solutions to improve existing websites

• Perform UI design and coding and create reusable objects and wireframes for web pages and email templates

• Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to department heads and staff.

• Monitor website performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

• Foster collaboration and communication among departments to promote cohesive district-wide operations.

• Conduct file backups regularly to local directories

3. Budget and Financial Management:

• Ensure financial resources are allocated appropriately to support district priorities and initiatives.

• Monitor departmental budgets and expenditures, identifying areas for cost savings or reallocation.

4. Stakeholder Engagement:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including parents, community members, and local organizations.

• Foster effective communication channels to promote transparency and engagement.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns, and identify opportunities for collaboration.

• Represent the district in community events, meetings, and forums..

5. Policy Development and Compliance:

• Stay informed about education laws, regulations, and policies, ensuring the district's compliance.

• Develop and update district policies and procedures in alignment with state and federal guidelines.

• Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.

• Provide guidance and training to staff on policy implementation and compliance.

6. Performance Monitoring and Evaluation:

• Develop systems and processes to monitor and evaluate the performance District and campus web pages/sites

• Conduct regular data analysis and reporting to assess outcomes and identify areas for improvement.

• Use evaluation findings to inform decision making and drive strategic initiatives.

7. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Web design, Multimedia design, or a related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

5 to 7 years

SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

• Dedication to innovative, sophisticated designs and collaborative problem-solving

• Experience in planning and developing websites across multiple products and organizations

• Extensive knowledge of web applications, programming languages, and web services — including API, CSS, CSS3, cross-browser compatibility, HTML, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, security principles, REST, SOAP, and web user interface design

• Proficiency with content management systems, including WordPress and Drupal

• Experience with web-based analytical tools such as Google Analytics

• Experience with Windows and Linux environments

• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees, but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing typically involves monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of same duties they are leading.

WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT

Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.

Participates in a group plan and/or budget development.

PROBLEM SOLVING

Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude, but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.

Decisions have moderate impact to the facility/department or division, causing increased satisfaction or dissatisfaction; producing efficiencies or delays; promoting or inhibiting personal intellectual or professional development; and/or contributing to financial gain or expense. Errors may be serious, usually not subject to direct verification or check, causing losses such as improper cost calculations, overpayment or improper utilization of labor, materials or equipment. Effect usually confined to the organization itself and is short term.

COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS

Negotiate and influence - interprets department strategies and services, resolves conflicts, influences outcomes on matters of significance for the division, conducts final negotiations and coordinates approvals/decision making below the executive level. Interactions are typically with customers and Top Management. Collaborate and solve problems - works with others to resolve problems, clarify or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with team members, customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS

Regularly assesses and diffuses complex, and escalated customer issues. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for solving systemic customer service problems. Regularly explores alternative and creative solutions to meeting the needs of the customer within HISD's policies and guidelines

WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
