2nd shift Material Handler

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced forklift driver to join our 2nd shift team.

We are looking for a careful forklift operator to supply raw material to the production line as needed, inventory, and loading and unloading trucks. You will be operating this forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Your job could involve driving around warehouse and storage spaces.

You must be a responsible individual with great experience in driving industrial vehicles. The goal will be to ensure that material and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

Hours: 3-12:am and some weekends

Pay: $19 plus $1.00 per hour shift differential.

Forklift Operator Qualifications/Skills:

• Pull and stage product for the following day’s production. Hook up electric to freezer unit on truck. Put empty cartons on empty truck to return to plant;

• Load and unload trucks of raw materials and finished products;

• Supply new materials to the production line to prevent shortages;

• Ensure proper storage of raw materials and finished product;

• Remove all raw materials and packing waste such as pallets, empty cartons etc. from the production line;

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Must have good math and reading skills (English);

• Ability to operate a hand truck, pallet jack and drive a forklift;

• Must be able to be drive a forklift;

• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems and scanning equipment is preferred;

• Ability to successfully complete on-the-job training; and

• Must be available and flexible to work hours to meet the needs of the plant.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

• Frequent bending, turning, twisting, kneeling, lifting to load and unload trucks;

• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. (unassisted/assisted);

• Ability to work in an environment with frequent exposure to noise, heat, cold, and occasionally in temperatures; below 10 degrees F for up to two hours at a time;

• Ability to wear safety gear including ear plugs, hand warmer gloves, freezer suites, and other various types of safety gear supplied by the company;

• Ability to reach heights up to 7 feet with the use of a forklift to pull boxes of product weighing 10 pounds about 10 to 15 times per shift .

• Ability to maneuver safely in trucks and around in tight spaces; and

• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
