Position Title: Production Manager
Location: Delaware, Ohio

Responsibilities:
Overseeing 4 Production Supervisors and 20 team zone leaders.
This position will be initially 80% time spent on the floor with supervisors and team zone leaders to ensure we are running efficiently – long term goal will be 60% time spent on the floor.Plan and execute operational strategy to maximize output and reduce cost in accordance with corporate goals.
Strong focus on achieving efficiency goals for each operating unit.
Allocates resources to meet weekly production schedules and ensures that policies, procedures, and formulas are followed in a consistent manner. Recommends improvements to production methods, equipment performance and quality of products.
Creates an environment of continuous improvement through employee involvement.
Plan, organize and control all manufacturing, engineering, material, and facility activities in accordance with corporate policies, procedures, goals and objectives as defined by Management.
Resolves manufacturing related problems and initiates corrective measures involving staff support services from other affected departments.
Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
Perform Operational Reviews to monitor production costs, product quality and implement appropriate changes.
Plan & coordinate training requirements for all direct reports and production associates. Continue to analyze and refine MRP or supporting systems.
Translates higher-level goals into discrete actions by providing clear spoken and written information to operations management and union personnel. Conducts periodic communication meetings with department personnel.
Recognizes, solves, and prevents problems by ensuring that coordinators follow and execute daily action plans.
Ensures direct reports receive training and development consistent with their responsibilities.
Evaluates, plans, and coordinates employee training and cross-training necessary to support corporate and plant accountabilities.

Job Requirements:
BS required, technical degree preferred, with 5-7 years progressive manufacturing experience, with a minimum of 5 years as Production Manager/Supervisor.
Experience in an automotive environment preferred
Experience as a Plant Manager in a small to mid-size facility
Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Compression Molding experience desirable.
Ideal candidate will have technical manufacturing leadership experience and be metric and results driven. Strong leadership, analytical, interpersonal, planning and communications skills required.
Eye for efficiency and bring experience identifying and implementing large-scale process improvement initiatives using data-driven techniques (performance metrics or Lean techniques).
