Position Overview

Providence Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in support of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Technology Foundation Services. You will ensure the stability, security, and optimal performance of enterprise UNIX/Linux systems operating in NIPRNET and SIPRNET environments.

This is a mission-critical, on-site role involving support for high-availability systems across Test/Dev, Staging, COOP, and Production environments.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and support UNIX/Linux systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Solaris, and HP-UX.

Perform system deployment, patching, configuration changes, and lifecycle management.

Monitor system performance, perform failure analysis, and manage system recovery procedures.

Lead system optimization, user support, and automation through tools and scripts.

Administer accounts and system access via Red Hat Identity Manager (IDM).

Support COTS software integration such as Trellix, HBSS, Splunk, and ArcSight.

Ensure cybersecurity compliance with STIGs, ACAS, and other DoD standards.

Maintain system logs, audit trails, and conduct regular vulnerability scans.

Provide training and mentorship to junior system administrators.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline (or 4 additional years of related experience).

Minimum of 10 years of specialized IT experience, with 4 years hands-on system administration (installation, configuration, troubleshooting).

Demonstrated experience in:

Vulnerability management

Network software optimization and upgrades

Clustered server environments, virtualization, and load balancing

Active Secret Clearance

Relevant Certification: RHCSA or CompTIA Linux+ (must be current at time of hire).
