Job Summary:
As a Sales Applications Engineer for AXIS Automation, your primary responsibility is to ensure that we provide our customers with the best possible solution for the unique requirements of their project. To do so requires both an accurate understanding of the customer’s needs, as well as an intimate knowledge of our product lines and the industry standards. A highly qualified Application Engineer for this position will be able to maintain excellent communication with both the customer and the engineering department to accurately convey the requirements of the application and our technical solution. This means that the Application Engineer will frequently conduct or supervise the initial product testing and technical development with engagement from the engineering department as needed. Developing solutions will involve properly applying standard equipment designs while also incorporating customizations as needed. Once a solution is developed, the Application Engineer is also responsible for generating cost estimates, precise quotations, and detailed 2D layout drawings that explain the solution to a variety of audiences. Building strong relationships with customers and delivering unparalleled customer service are also crucial functions of the Application Engineer position. Effective communication over the entire course of the project duration helps ensure that it’s easier to do business with us than with anyone else in the industry. Accountabilities:
Advise technical and functional specifications of products
Produce layout drawings, budgets, and sales quotations
Spare parts and after-market quotations
Facilitate testing of customer product
Enter sales orders
Roles & Responsibilities:
Examine customer requirements and communicate those requirements to Engineering
Conduct product testing and work with Engineering to develop custom automation solutions that meet customer needs and company objectives
Generate 2D CAD layout drawings from our 3D CAD library to reflect proposed solutions
Produce sales presentations and quotations that effectively explain technical solutions and product features
Identify and recommend equipment upgrades to the customer and Engineering
Build strong relationships with our customers and provide excellent customer service that makes it easier to do business with us than with anyone else in our industry
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering to continuously improve sales program, product functionality, and product lines
Quote Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to customers as needed
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
BS in Engineering with 5+ years of experience or equivalent work experience in a technical field
Experience with concepts of automation and machine design
Willingness to develop in-depth knowledge of our product lines and the baking and snack food industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
Proven proficiency in AutoCAD or an equivalent 2D program
Strong aptitude for Microsoft Office products
General experience and understanding of ERP systems
Proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software is a plus
Physical Requirement:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
Requires the use of PPE to include, but not limited to, eye protection while in manufacturing areas
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.Company Description
