Job Description

Position Summary:

Directs the Continuous Improvement and Training activities throughout the plant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates: Oversees the planning and implementation of the plant-wide training and CI programs in alignment with organizational goals and objectives. The CI/Training Supervisor is also responsible for the management and development of the Training and CI staff.

Essential Responsibilities:

Manage day to day CI/Training activities that support current and ongoing Monroe operations and objectives.

Help Team Leaders/Supervisors/Leads sustain improved processes obtained from Kaizen after the event.

Follow-up on the 30 Day/Go Forward Plan from Kaizen Events to ensure that they are completed and implemented.

Lead Continuous Improvement Meeting with Managers and Supervisors.

Manage and Lead 5S Program that include training, audits, etc.

Lead projects and events where the results improve performance overall.

Responsible for MMR Program to include working with managers on assessing, validating, and bringing closure. MMR Incentive Program as well.

Responsible for all data collection for the Total Quality Management: run remake reports, research, and investigate remakes to assign blue dots and red dots, go out to the shop and put on blue and red dots on each TQM Boards, prepare monthly TQM Reports.

Responsible for weekly Gemba Walk: total up the dots for the week on the TQM Boards, make sure all the SQDC Boards are up to date and 5S Audits are completed.

Manage Standard Work Program that includes support for development of SW and Audit Process.

Teach Continuous Improvement Concepts using CI/Lean Tools, drive projects, and workshops for savings and results throughout the organization.

Mentor managers, supervisors and leads on how to read and update their Performance Metrics (SQDC Boards) and to manage for daily improvement.

Identify Training and CI needs and recommend appropriate solutions based on performance objectives.

Develop project plans to support training opportunities and delegate assignments among Training and CI staff.

Build local Training and CI staff, assess the delivery and success of local programs and initiatives, assess and coach the skill level of trainers

Supervise coordinate Training and CI staff; provide coaching and seek out professional development opportunities for direct reports

Work closely with senior management, plant management teams and subject matter experts to understand the business goals, determine the learning needs of various employee populations, and to develop performance improvement plans to address those needs

Participate on various project teams, representing the Training Development / CI function as it relates to new systems, procedures, and product rollouts

Communicate with management regarding status of projects for both Training and CI

Consult with managers and supervisors regarding employee training issues, team building and process improvements

Develop and deliver training programs as needed, including management development and leadership skills programs

Ensure that the content and quality of training programs, materials and media are consistent throughout the organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Bilingual English/Spanish

Minimum five (5) years’ experience in training and employee development in a corporate setting with at least two (2) years management experience

Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in a training or CI role preferred

Excellent project management skills; able to handle multiple demands and competing priorities

Excellent facilitation, writing and presentation skills

Able to effectively interact with all employee levels, including senior management

Able to effectively build relationships across multiple locations

Four (4) year degree
