Data Security Analyst

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Data Security Analyst to join our team in Riverwoods, IL. In this long-term contract role, you will play a pivotal part in safeguarding sensitive data and ensuring the organization’s digital security measures are robust and effective. This position involves analyzing risks, implementing security protocols, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain a secure digital environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth data security analyses to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.

• Develop, implement, and manage security configurations and protocols to protect sensitive data.

• Monitor and maintain firewall technologies, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and other cybersecurity tools.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.

• Perform regular audits and risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of security measures.

• Create and present detailed reports on security performance and potential risks to stakeholders.

• Investigate, escalate, and resolve any detected security incidents or breaches in a timely manner.

• Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in cybersecurity to enhance the organization's defenses.

• Collaborate with IT and business teams to align security strategies with overall organizational goals.

• Support configuration management efforts to ensure systems remain updated and secure.• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Analytics, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in data security, analytics, or cybersecurity roles.

• Proficiency in intrusion detection systems (IDS) and firewall technologies.

• Strong skills in data visualization tools such as Tableau and advanced analysis using Python.

• Experience working with cloud environments such as Snowflake for data analysis.

• Familiarity with configuration management and auditing processes.

• Knowledge of financial services, including credit, marketing, or digital marketing, is a plus.

• Ability to conduct AB testing and perform statistical analysis to assess security processes.
