Job Description

We are seeking a diligent Paint Prep Laborer to join our team. This position involves preparing axles and other components for painting by ensuring surfaces are free of contaminants and defects, applying primers and coatings as required, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Responsibilities

Prepare axles and other components for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking.

Ensure surfaces are free of contaminants and defects.

Apply primers and coatings as required.

Inspect surfaces for contamination, damage, or imperfections.

Clean and degrease surfaces to be painted.

Scrape and sand surfaces to remove old paint, rust, or other imperfections.

Mix and apply primer or undercoat.

Mask and demask, protecting areas that should not be painted.

Maintain equipment and tools used for painting preparation.

Document preparation processes and materials used for quality control purposes.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Follow safety protocols and guidelines.Essential Skills

Experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment preferred.

Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Skills in production, manufacturing environment, paint prep, sanding, priming, masking.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing environment with a running assembly line and forklifts throughout the facility. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, and gloves are required. Shifts are from 5am/6am to 2:30pm for the 1st shift and from 3pm to midnight for the 2nd shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alburtis, Pennsylvania.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
