We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with expertise in both geriatrics and pediatrics. This role involves working in various settings, including skilled nursing facilities and acute care environments, to help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities. The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions to enhance the quality of life for patients.
Ideal candidates will have experience with LTC and SNF and a background using Net Health
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and social needs.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
Provide direct patient care through therapeutic activities aimed at improving daily living skills.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
Educate patients and their families about treatment goals and strategies for achieving them.
Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Maintain knowledge of current best practices in occupational therapy, anatomy, and physiology.
Participate in case management activities to coordinate care across various healthcare settings.
Requirements
Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Valid state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist.
Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to human movement and function.
Experience in geriatrics and pediatrics is preferred.
Familiarity with skilled nursing facilities and acute care settings is a plus.
Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy while assisting patients with their rehabilitation goals.
Strong organizational skills for managing multiple cases effectively.
