About the Role

The Certified Damage Prevention Technician will report to the Operations Lead. The position will play a key role in safety and quality while driving, parking, and performing audits on marked gas lines. This position requires a high level of physical activity and working in a wide variety of weather conditions.

***Salary Transparency: For those residing in NY, the pay for this role is at $18/hour. ***

What You’ll Do

Compliance & Safety

Assure compliance with Code Rule 753 and promote safe excavation practices

Follow strict Utility, State and Federal guidelines relating to damage prevention

Wear assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) and company uniform

Follow safety, quality, and operational procedures

Participate in safety meetings

Gas Main Locating & Site Visits

Hand out educational materials and public awareness items to excavators

Visit 3rd party excavation sites and construction zones regularly

Collect data using handheld tablet or other collection device

Show courtesy and professionalism when dealing with customers and other employees

Complete Work Orders on assigned dates

Travel to visit sites on occasion

Communication & Collaboration

Provide timely reports and documentation to management regularly

Escalate issues and questions to Supervisor when necessary

Maintain a satisfactory attendance record

Keep assigned vehicle clean

Report equipment and vehicle issues immediately

Communicate with dispatchers

Other duties as needed

About You

Must Haves:

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must have a valid driver’s license
