Summary

A Quality Engineer works to ensure the overall quality of manufactured products meets Intergalactic's and customers' standards/requirements. The Quality Engineer tests processes, monitors quality standards, creates documentation, devises quality plans, and defines criteria that should be met. The Quality Engineer will work with teams to continuously improve Intergalactic's products and processes.

Roles and responsibilities

Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Performs oversight and monitoring of program risks and opportunities.

Integrates contractual and Intergalactic Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes, and documentation.

Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction, assuring process and product quality. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

Develops quality metrics, design, and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company, and regulatory requirements.

Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support production activity.

Participates in reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product processes and designs.

Performs product and process analysis to ensure manufacturing readiness.

Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions.

REQUIRED Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline. 4+ years in lieu of a degree.

Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in related Quality, Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Solid written and verbal interpersonal communication skills and confidence to brief senior team members or management teams regarding Mission Assurance concerns.

Ability to work in cross-functional teams to resolve problems or issues.

High computer proficiency, including skills working with Microsoft Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication and networking skills

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer support

1+ years of related work experience

1+ years of experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or experience in a regulated industry

1+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

1+ years of experience in Systematic problem solving with root cause and corrective action

Experience with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools)

Experience with 3D modeling software to determine product and GD&T requirements

Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

Familiarity with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

20% or less travel is expected for this position. Infrequent travel to suppliers, customers, or other locations is expected.
