We at Aspire Communications are seeking a skilled and motivated OSP Foreman to lead our outside plant (OSP) construction and installation teams. The OSP Foreman will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic infrastructure, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves managing a team, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

1. Leadership and Team Management

Team Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of OSP technicians and contractors, providing guidance, direction, and support to achieve project objectives.

Task Assignment: Assign tasks and responsibilities based on project schedules and deadlines, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.

Work Environment: Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication among team members.

2. OSP Construction and Installation

Oversight: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of outside plant infrastructure, including aerial and underground cables, fiber optic lines, conduits, and distribution cabinets.

Coordination: Work closely with engineering teams to interpret OSP design plans and ensure accurate field implementation.

Site Assessment: Conduct site surveys to assess existing infrastructure and determine project requirements and feasibility.

Compliance Monitoring: Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.

3. Project Planning and Coordination

Work Planning: Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed work plans, schedules, and budgets for OSP projects.

Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors, utility companies, and other stakeholders to manage site access, permits, and utility locates.

Obstacle Management: Anticipate potential obstacles or delays and proactively address them to minimize impacts on project timelines.

Progress Tracking: Track project progress, expenses, and resource utilization, providing regular updates to project stakeholders.

4. Quality Assurance and Compliance

Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure OSP installations meet industry standards and customer requirements.

Inspections: Conduct inspections and audits of OSP infrastructure to identify deficiencies and ensure proper functionality and safety.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including permits, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.

Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including as-built drawings, material usage, and equipment inventory.

5. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution

Issue Investigation: Investigate and troubleshoot OSP-related issues, such as network outages, signal interference, or equipment failures.

Coordination: Work with technical support teams and vendors to diagnose and resolve complex problems in a timely manner.

Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance procedures to minimize service interruptions and enhance network reliability.Requirements:Qualifications

Experience: Proven experience in OSP construction and installation, with a strong background in managing teams and projects.

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of fiber optic infrastructure, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or training is a plus.

Licensing: Valid driver’s license required; Class A driver’s license preferred.

Availability: Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required for project needs.Physical Requirements

Environment: Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including non-climate-controlled and outdoor settings.

Strength and Stamina: Must have physical strength and stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, and handling materials up to 50 lbs.

Protective Gear: Must be able to wear and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
