CNC Press Brake Lead - 1st Shift

Location: Decatur, Alabama

Department: Operations

Classification: Full-Time / Hourly / Non-Exempt

A respected and established manufacturing company in Decatur, Alabama, is actively seeking an experienced CNC Press Brake Lead to lead their first shift operations. This full-time position runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime as needed. Starting pay ranges from $26.00 to $27.50 per hour, based on experience and skill level.

This role blends hands-on machine operation with floor-level leadership. Approximately 70% of your time will be spent working directly on CNC press brakes. In comparison, the remaining 30% will focus on guiding other operators, coordinating daily workflow, and ensuring production goals are met. You will play a key role in maintaining a smooth and safe work environment while producing high-quality fabricated components.

To be successful in this role, you must have at least ten years of press brake experience, with demonstrated proficiency in machine setup, tooling installation, part inspection, and programming. Candidates with expertise operating Amada brand CNC press brakes are highly preferred. You should also have prior leadership experience, including mentoring or training team members on the floor. This position requires the ability to interpret technical drawings, perform basic calculations, and maintain accurate production documentation.

As a Press Brake Lead, you'll collaborate with engineering teams on first articles and prototypes, assist operators with machine questions, and troubleshoot issues as they arise. You must possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain productivity while upholding high standards of safety and quality. A high school diploma or GED is required, and all applicants must be able to read and write in English.

The ideal candidate is someone who leads by example, takes initiative on the shop floor, and understands the value of precision and teamwork.

Benefits include:

Competitive hourly wage based on experience

Standard first-shift schedule with overtime opportunities

Health, dental, and vision insurance

Paid time off and paid holidays

401(k) and retirement savings options

Training, support, and room for advancement

Clean, organized, and safety-first production facility

If you're ready to take your CNC press brake skills to the next level and lead a high-performing fabrication team, we encourage you to apply.
