Position Overview: As the Assistant Warehouse Manager focusing on onions, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse facilities. You will be responsible for overseeing the storage, quality control, and distribution of onions, working closely with our warehouse team to maintain high standards of product handling and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the receipt, storage, and dispatch of onions within the warehouse, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety protocols.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to meet customer demands and minimize stock shortages.
Implement and enforce warehouse procedures to optimize storage space and minimize product loss or damage.
Lead and supervise warehouse staff, providing training, scheduling, and performance feedback.
Collaborate with suppliers and logistics partners to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of onions.
Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure onions meet specified standards for freshness and condition.
Maintain accurate records of inventory, transactions, and any incidents related to onion handling or storage.
Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Uphold health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in warehouse management, preferably in the agricultural or food distribution industry.
Knowledge of onion storage requirements, handling practices, and quality control measures.
Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
