Job Description

Position Overview:

The Next Generation Ministries Minister will play a vital role in fostering spiritual growth, community engagement, and leadership development among the youth and young adults of Temple Missionary Baptist Church.

The selected individual will be responsible for creating and implementing programs that engage, inspire, and nurture the faith of young people in the age range of 13 to 30 yrs. Old.

The Next Generation Ministries Minister, will work collaboratively with church staff, volunteers, and families to create a welcoming environment that encourages the personal and spiritual development of the young people of the church.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Development and Implementation:

- Design, organize, and lead relevant and engaging programs and activities for youth and young adults, including Bible studies, retreats, service projects, and social events.

2. Spiritual Guidance and Support:

- Provide ministerial care and mentorship to youth and young adults, offering guidance in their spiritual journey and personal challenges.

- Facilitate small group discussions and one-on-one mentoring sessions to encourage personal reflection and spiritual growth.

3. Community Engagement:

- Develop outreach initiatives that connect youth and young adults with the broader community, encouraging service and mission work.

- Foster partnerships with other churches, schools, and local organizations, to create opportunities, and to broaden the horizon and the involvement of the youth and young adults of Temple.

4. Volunteer Recruitment and Training:

- Recruit, train, and support volunteers to assist with youth and young adult programs.

- Create a robust volunteer network that empowers individuals to take on leadership roles within the ministry.

5. Event Planning and Coordination:

- Plan and execute special events, retreats, and trips that promote fellowship and spiritual growth among youth and young adults.

- Coordinate logistics, budgets, and promotional efforts for events.

6. Communication and Promotion:

- Utilize various communication platforms (social media, newsletters, website) to promote youth and young adult activities and engage families.

- Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians to keep them informed and involved in their children's spiritual development.

7. Evaluation and Feedback:

- Regularly assess the effectiveness of programs and initiatives, seeking feedback from participants and families.

- Adjust programming as needed to ensure relevance and engagement.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in youth ministry or working with young adults in a church or community setting.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with youth and young adults from diverse backgrounds.

- A passionate commitment to the spiritual development of young people and a deep understanding of the challenges they face.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in using social media and technology for ministry purposes.

- Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, volunteers, and community partners.
