Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

Job Description

A great opportunity to step into a supervisory role as a Shipping and Receiving Manager in Dekalb, IL, where you can lead efficient logistics operations and drive process improvements.

Anticipate $70K Full suite of benefits, holidays, PTO

Shift: Choice of 6 AM - 3 PM or 7 AM - 4 PM

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Manage the shipping and receiving processes, including receiving, verifying, and transacting incoming goods, and preparing outgoing shipments.

Oversee a team of two direct reports: a shipping and receiving clerk and a laborer/forklift operator.

Collaborate with other departments, such as production and commodities, to ensure smooth workflow.

Drive process improvements and cost savings through KPI tracking and analysis, focusing on dock-to-stock time, on-time delivery percentages, and freight spend.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

Strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Experience in a manufacturing facility setting to understand process flow.

5-7 years of experience working with an ERP system (D365 preferred, but not required).

Proficiency in Excel.

Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Experience with KPIs (dock-to-stock time, on-time delivery, freight spend).

Ability to manage invoices.

Openness to backup work for pick pack supervisor.

Ideal Level of Experience:

Early career professional with the right work ethic is ideal.

Preferred but not required; 3+ years of experience in a relevant role (supervisor or manager)

Experience in a manufacturing setting is desired.

Experience with ERP systems and KPIs is essential.

Willingness to work collaboratively with a team.
