Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely collection of accounts. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Process and record journal entries related to accounts receivable transactions.

Negotiate payment terms with clients to ensure timely collections.

Collaborate with the accounts payable team to reconcile discrepancies and maintain accurate financial records.

Analyze account statements and resolve any issues or disputes with clients.

Utilize Sage and TimberScan to track payments and generate reports.

Maintain detailed records of all transactions and communications related to accounts receivable.

Assist in governmental accounting processes as needed, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Support collection efforts by following up on outstanding invoices and coordinating with clients when necessary.

Requirements

Proven experience in accounts receivable or related financial services roles.

Familiarity with technical accounting principles and practices.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess financial data accurately.

Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage and TimberScan; experience with other financial software is a plus.

Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts efficiently.

A background in construction accounting or collections is preferred but not required.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
