Field Technician/Cabling Technician Contract to Hire

Excel Management Systems, Inc.

Excel Management Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Technician/Cabling Technician Contractor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems, ensuring seamless communication and connectivity for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Structured Cable Installations: Perform tasks including pathway identification, preparation, cable rough-in, termination, labeling, certification testing, and documentation for Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optics.

Site Surveys and Quotes: Conduct site surveys and provide accurate quotes for additional cabling opportunities.

Equipment Operation: Operate power hand tools, platform, and boom lifts, and handle ladders.

Installation Tasks: Install fire-rated wall/floor penetrations, firestop, floor racks, wall cabinets, J-hooks, cable trays, raceways, access points, IP cameras, and paging speakers.

Reading and Interpretation: Read and interpret floor plans, drawings, and equipment specifications.

Additional Work:

Repair, maintain, and install hardware and associated cabling materials as per client needs.

Install and replace kiosks, tablets, printers, PCs, and other equipment within the State of Ohio BMV, ATPS ODPS, OSHP system, and other state agencies.

Maintain inventory documentation for equipment accountability.

Provide operations support for site surveys, pre-bid meetings, and project work.

Develop process documentation.

Communicate with the Help Desk Manager for work assignments and provide ETA for arrival and departure.

Troubleshoot and resolve problems in collaboration with multiple departments.

Maintain individual work orders with detailed "on my way," "check-in," and "check-out" information.

Document all completed fieldwork thoroughly in individual work orders.

Assist in training and educating other employees as needed.

Organize equipment and tools in the storage facility.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Experience: Significant experience in cabling.

Skills: Ability to pin-out and test cables.

Travel: Willingness to travel across the State of Ohio.

Attention to Detail: Utmost attention to detail and follow-through.

Background Check: Ability to pass a background investigation.

Drug Screening: Ability to pass random drug screenings.
