Material Handler/Operator

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

1. Receiving Materials:

• Unload incoming shipments.

• Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies.

• Verify shipments against purchase orders or packing lists.

2. Storing Inventory:

• Organize and store materials in assigned warehouse locations.

• Use forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment to move items safely.

• Maintain proper labeling and tracking of inventory.

3. Order Picking & Packing:

• Pull items from racks based on order slips or digital systems.

• Prepare and pack products for shipping.

• Ensure accurate order fulfillment.

4. Shipping Duties:

• Load trucks for outgoing deliveries.

• Prepare shipping documents (labels, BOLs, etc.).

• Work with carriers and logistics teams as needed.

5. Inventory Management:

• Perform cycle counts and full physical inventories.

• Report inventory discrepancies.

• Keep records up to date using warehouse software (WMS or ERP systems).

6. Safety & Maintenance:

• Follow all warehouse safety protocols.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.

• Inspect and report on equipment condition.

7. Documentation & Reporting:

• Complete logs, checklists, or other records related to movement and condition of goods.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and sometimes customers.Company Description
