Job Description
We are looking for an IT Manager in Reston, Virginia. You will be responsible for building and managing a team of IT technicians to provide support and administration of user equipment for our office and remote users. This includes Mac, Windows, and some Linux devices, printers, wireless, and the administrative systems and services that support them. Ideal candidates will have a broad understanding of common technologies and the people skills needed to support their users.
What you’ll do…
Manage corporate users, accounts, and communications (AD, LDAP, Microsoft 365, Teams, Email)
Provide onboarding and support of users of varying technical experience
Manage file shares, printers, wireless networks, VPNs, and other corporate services
Influence and implement security policy
Build and manage MDM solutions for company and BYOD equipment
Purchase and track IT equipment, including laptops, docks, monitors, and peripherals
Develop and document processes and procedure for IT tasks and responsibilities
You’d be a great fit if meet the following…
A high school diploma or equivalent
At least 5 years of experience in IT support
Experience managing Microsoft 365 services and users
Experience supporting Mac and Windows workstations in a corporate environment
Experience working with ticketing and helpdesk systems (Jira, Remedy, ServiceNow)
Experience documenting processes and procedures, user guides, and network diagrams
Strong organization skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both on the phone and in person
Have the physical ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
It would be even better if you had…
At least 2 years of experience in IT Management
Experience installing, upgrading, and managing Windows and Linux servers, including
Active Directory
WSUS
Jira
Confluence
Sharepoint
SnipeIT
VPNs
File and Print servers
NFS systems
Experience making and modifying DNS entries
Understanding of common networking concepts (CIDR, Ethernet standards, VLANs, and switch management)
Understanding of virtualization platforms and hypervisors
Experience managing or working with building facilities and contractors (HVAC, etc)
A desire to improve and take ownership of tasks and systems
