Licensed Massage Therapist (Independent Contractor)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our team as an Independent Contractor. The candidate will be renting space from us in our studio in Starkville. We will provide reception, a waiting area, and restroom facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, along with the ability to assess patient needs and provide effective therapeutic treatments. This role requires a dedication to patient service and a commitment to promoting wellness through various massage techniques.

Duties

Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine individual needs and treatment plans.

Utilize various massage techniques, including deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy, to alleviate pain and promote relaxation.

Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and occupational health practices to ensure safe and effective treatments.

Provide exceptional patient service by creating a welcoming environment and addressing client concerns.

Collaborate with other professionals as needed to optimize client care.

Stay updated on the latest techniques and trends in the field of massage therapy, including med spa services.

Experience

Proven experience in massage therapy with a strong foundation in anatomy knowledge and physiology.

Familiarity with pain management strategies and the ability to apply them effectively during sessions.

Experience in patient assessment and developing tailored treatment plans based on individual needs.

Knowledge of trigger point therapy techniques is highly desirable.

Previous experience in a health wellness/med spa or clinical setting is a plus, but not required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $26.00 - $38.00 per hour (based on experience)

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
