Job Description:
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (JFS) is seeking a Senior Java Developer (Programmer 5) to provide high-level technical development and support on enterprise applications. This individual must be highly proficient in Java EE frameworks and related technologies with significant experience in backend and full-stack development.
Specialty Areas:
Java Enterprise Development – Strong experience with J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, JDBC, HTML, and JavaScript.
Microservices & Cloud Integration – Expertise in Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, and Azure.
DevOps & Tools – Hands-on with Git, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, and Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines).
Database Proficiency – Strong command over SQL Server and Oracle databases including writing complex queries and stored procedures.
Middleware & Web Servers – IBM WebSphere, IIB/ACE, CMIS, FileNet.
Monitoring & Security – Familiarity with Splunk, Dynatrace, Veracode for performance/security monitoring.
Agile Practices – Active participation in Agile methodologies including Scrum, XP, Lean Startup.
Responsibilities:
Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and enterprise solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues; provide mentoring and technical guidance to other team members.
Perform solution analysis, integration, and data migration for complex Java-based systems.
Use TFS/Azure DevOps for version control, task management, and continuous integration/delivery.
Adhere to coding standards and participate in peer reviews.
Document technical findings, development plans, and solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and team members on requirements and design decisions.
Assist with implementation of new technologies to enhance and modernize the application stack.

Required
Mandatory Requirements:
Minimum 8 years of experience in enterprise Java development.
Minimum 5 years with Oracle and SQL Server (including stored procedures).

Experience working with Agile teams including developers, analysts, and scrum masters.
Preferred Qualifications:
