We are seeking a skilled and reliable Building Engineer to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our high-rise office building in downtown Fort Worth, Texas. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of building systems and a commitment to maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our tenants. This role requires early morning availability and some weekend work.Compensation:

$80,000Responsibilities:

Maintain, repair, and optimize HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, air handlers, etc.)

Oversee electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and emergency power.

Maintain and repair plumbing systems, addressing leaks and ensuring proper water pressure.

Inspect, test, and maintain fire protection and life safety systems (alarms, sprinklers, elevators, escalators).

Monitor and control building systems through the Building Automation System (BAS).

Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.

Respond to tenant requests for repairs and troubleshoot building system issues.

Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance.

Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.

Respond to building emergencies (power outages, fire alarms, etc.).

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.

Assist in the development of operating budgets.

Communicate effectively with tenants regarding building system issues or maintenance activities.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Building Engineer, preferably in a high-rise office building environment.

Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety systems.

Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC certification, electrical license) are a plus.

Must be able to work early hours and some weekends.
