Salary: $20-30 DOE

Job Summary:

The Automotive Mechanic/Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicle systems and components. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work to ensure customer satisfaction and vehicle safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension systems.

Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.

Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and troubleshoot vehicle issues accurately.

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential safety concerns or future maintenance needs.

Perform advanced repairs and component replacements, including engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, and electrical system repairs.

Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and labor hours, in accordance with company and manufacturer standards.

Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure issues have been resolved and the vehicle is operating safely.

Communicate with the Service Advisor to provide detailed explanations of repairs needed, estimated costs, and timelines.

Stay up to date with the latest automotive technology, tools, and repair techniques through ongoing training and certification programs.

Follow all safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited automotive technology program is preferred.

ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.

2 years of experience as an automotive technician, with experience in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle systems preferred.

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

Proficiency with diagnostic tools, shop equipment, and repair software.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair guides.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and customers.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand, walk, and work in various positions for extended periods.

Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to various weather conditions and automotive fluids.

Working Hours:

This position may require working various shifts, including evenings and weekends, based on business needs.
