seeking a qualified candidate to a fill Senior Technical Writer role in Laurel, MD (Onsite Work)
Background: The Technical Writer will engage with Customer Service leadership, project managers, training specialists, subject matter experts (SMEs), and end-users to gather accurate information and ensure documentation reflects processes and procedures accurately.
They will create clear, comprehensive, and user-friendly documentation/media, including:
User manuals and operational guides (e.g., user guides, quick reference guides)
Training materials (e.g., brochures, presentations)
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance and troubleshooting
Instructional Videos
The Technical Writer will be expected to leverage industry best practices in technical writing and use documentation and video production tools to produce high-quality, professional documentation/media tailored to the organization s needs.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor s degree in English, Communication, Business Management, or a related field
General Experience: Six (6) years of senior-level experience. Ten years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor s degree.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in a technical writing position
Specialized Experience AP style guide experience (Preferred); SOW and RFP development experience (Preferred)
Skillset Technical Skills: Proficient in documentation tools and version control. Understanding of software and project development processes.
Writing Skills: Capable of clear and concise writing tailored to various audiences, with strong editing and familiarity with style guides.
