Our State is seeking a Newsletter and Social Media Coordinator to join their team. This role is responsible for building and scheduling email newsletters and social media posts for the Our State brand across multiple social media channels. The Newsletter and Social Media Coordinator reports to the Digital Manager and works closely with the Newsletter Producer and Digital Content Editor. This role will work collaboratively with the entire digital team and across the company.
Position Duties:
· Build and schedule email newsletters
· Gather photography and edit images to be used for social media and newsletters
· Assist in curating and fact checking stories for newsletters and social content
· Schedule social content across all social media channels including editorial posts, sponsored posts, videos, and Our State Recipe Box
· Create and maintain a content calendar to track social media posts
· Create ad campaigns through Meta and boost social media posts, when necessary
· Collaborate with the digital team to generate ideas and create social media content that enhances stories told in the magazine
· Engage, monitor, and respond to comments on social media channels
· Film social media reels for editorial and sponsored content
· Manage the Carolina Calendar including writing, editing, and posting events
· Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual analytics reports and share findings with digital team
· Assist with video shoots, as needed
· Conduct administrative tasks for digital manager, as needed
· Complete other tasks related to digital content
Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
· Experience in Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest
· Experience with email service providers is preferred
· Outstanding oral and written communication skills and strong listening skills
· Demonstrated writing experience
· Quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment
· Understanding of the different social media channels and how to use each effectively to enhance the Our State brand
· Strong attention to detail and the ability to change directions quickly
· Solid organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
· Ability to engage followers and increase brand awareness on social platforms
· Ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision
· Team player with a positive attitude who demonstrates flexibility
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
· Photoshop and InDesign skills are not required, but are preferred
· Familiarity with the Our State brand and the state of North Carolina
