We are seeking a dedicated and organized HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team! As an HR Generalist, you will provide essential administrative support to the HR department, assisting with a wide range of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, payroll and compliance. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and have a strong ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Recruitment & Onboarding:

Assist in Recruitment: Support the recruitment process by screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating with hiring managers to ensure smooth candidate selection.

Conduct New Employee Onboarding: Prepare and organize onboarding materials for new hires, assist with orientation sessions, and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed (e.g., employment contracts, tax forms, benefits enrollment).

Employee Recordkeeping: Maintain and update employee files, ensuring that all documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Employee Support & Relations:

Assist with Employee Inquiries: Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, payroll, and company procedures.

Coordinate Employee Engagement: Assist in organizing company events, employee recognition programs, and team-building activities that foster a positive workplace culture.

Confidentiality & Compliance: Handle sensitive employee information with discretion and ensure compliance with data protection laws and company confidentiality policies.

HR Administration:

Payroll Support: Assist with the processing of payroll by collecting and verifying timekeeping data, ensuring accuracy of overtime, leave, and attendance records.

Training & Development: Help coordinate employee training programs, workshops, and compliance sessions, ensuring employees meet required certifications and qualifications.

Assist with Audits: Support HR Manager in preparing for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with labor laws and industry regulations (e.g., OSHA, FMLA, ADA).

Generate HR Reports: Assist in preparing HR-related reports, such as headcount, turnover, and training compliance, for management review.

Qualifications:

Education: Associate's degree in human resources, business administration, related field or relevant work experience.

Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in HR administration, preferably within food manufacturing or a similar industry.

Experience handling confidential employee information and supporting HR functions in a fast-paced environment.

Skills: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR software or databases (e.g., ADP, Workday, or other HRIS systems).

Preferred Skills:

Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, particularly in diverse or multilingual work environments.

Working Conditions:

Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime required based on business needs.

Work is based in an office environment but will require visits to the manufacturing floor for employee interactions or to address HR-related issues in the plant.

The role may involve occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds, such as filing materials or office supplies.
