VP of Operations

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Vice President of Operations to lead and manage the company’s operations across all functional areas, including warehousing, distribution, inventory management, logistics, and order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations leadership within a distribution environment and will drive operational excellence, implement process improvements, and contribute to the company's overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Provide overall leadership to the operations team, driving the execution of strategies that enhance operational performance and align with business objectives. Develop and implement long-term operational plans to optimize efficiency, scalability, and profitability.

Operational Efficiency:

Lead the development and continuous improvement of processes across all operational functions, including inventory management, warehouse operations, logistics, and distribution. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and increased productivity.

Supply Chain Integration:

Collaborate closely with the Vice President of Supply Chain to ensure seamless integration between procurement, inventory, and distribution functions. Oversee the execution of supply chain strategies to reduce lead times and ensure high service levels.

Team Leadership & Development:

Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing operations team. Develop team members through training and coaching to drive accountability, performance, and professional growth. Foster a collaborative and results-driven work culture.

Performance Metrics & Analysis:

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational effectiveness and efficiency. Use data and analytics to track progress, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Budget & Cost Management:

Oversee the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining service quality. Work with the finance team to track financial performance and manage operational expenditures.

Customer Focus:

Ensure that the operational processes are aligned with the company’s customer service goals. Work with the customer service and sales teams to ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining optimal inventory levels and timely deliveries.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field

Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in a distribution or logistics environment.

Proven track record of driving operational excellence and process improvement in a fast-paced, distribution-focused company.

Exceptional leadership, team-building, and communication skills.

Expertise in budgeting, cost management, and financial performance.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work collaboratively across departments and lead cross-functional initiatives.
