Responsibilities & Qualifications
TEAM SUMMARY
The Infrastructure Support team is responsible for maintaining several systems, and networks that provide the infrastructure platforms for cybersecurity capabilities and data. This team is accountable for system administration, identity and authentication, information system security accreditation, data storage and backup, physical infrastructure maintenance, and automation development.
ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintaining and securing Windows-based infrastructure for cybersecurity operations
Supporting identity and access management (IAM) systems across a secure enterprise
Configuring and maintaining virtualized environments using VMware
Managing server lifecycle from provisioning through decommissioning
Participating in system hardening and vulnerability mitigation efforts
Supporting infrastructure during security audits and reviews
Applying security patches and upgrades to reduce attack surface
Collaborating with cyber teams to implement secure configurations and system baselines
Monitoring system performance and conducting root cause analysis for incidents
Working closely with government clients to ensure systems meet mission and compliance goals
SKILLS
Infrastructure & System Administration
Windows Server administration (installation, configuration, patching, performance tuning)
Active Directory (AD) management, including GPOs, OU structuring, DNS, and user access control
VMware vSphere 7 virtualization setup, management, and troubleshooting
Experience with SAN/NAS storage solutions, preferably Dell hardware
Backup and recovery systems implementation and monitoring
Networking
Cisco network device configuration, routing/switching, and troubleshooting
Network segmentation and security hardening best practices
Firewall and VPN management
Cybersecurity & Compliance
Understanding and application of NIST SP 800-53 security controls
Familiarity with FISMA compliance requirements
Experience with the system accreditation and authorization process (ATO lifecycle)
Use of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools like Xacta, RiskVision, JCAM
Automation & Scripting
Development and maintenance of scripts for system automation (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
Automation of monitoring, reporting, and compliance checks
Documentation & Reporting
Creating and maintaining detailed system documentation, diagrams, and configuration baselines
Supporting audits and producing compliance documentation
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
Excellent written and verbal communication, especially in high-security environments
Collaboration in cross-functional teams, including with security and operations teams
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree, preferably in an IT-related field
10+ years of experience in IT
Active TS Clearance
Experience with Microsoft Windows, Active Directory
Understanding of NIST 800 series publications and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Experience with VMWare vSphere 7 experience
Experience with Cisco Networking
Experience with Dell Server, and SAN Storage hardware experience
Familiarity with system accreditation and authorization and the ATO processes of a government agency
Experience with evaluating, documenting, and managing NIST 800-53 control implementations
Experience with GRC tools (RiskVision, Xacta and JCAM)
Related certifications, such as Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, VMware Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), and/or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
