2nd shift, Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:00pm
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB ACTIVITIES:
1. Physically walk production lines to determine material levels. Order needed materials through Production Inventory Control (PIC) system.
2. Stock production lines to ensure uninterrupted operation by moving materials from staging area in Receiving warehouse to production lines.
3. Prepare skid tags with skid count, part number, date received and initials for work in process (WIP).
4. Place WIP items in proper warehouse area or staging area for items stored in Receiving warehouse. Ensure tridecka totes are nested properly.
5. Pull raw materials for production ensuring no machine downtime.
6. Assist with removing finished goods from production area, wrapping skids and moving material to shipping transition area.
7. Load and move product via company truck to and from other warehouses as necessary. Inspect product after loading truck.
8. Organize staging area. Remove excess packaging and stage for Receiving to return material back into inventory.
9. Perform monthly inventories (last workday of month) ensuring correct products and amounts are counted. Material Handlers will be assigned specific areas of responsibility and accountability to maintain daily.
10. Notify Materials Shift Coordinator, Receiving Coordinator and/or Receiving Supervisor when available inventory will not completely support scheduled production.
11. Continually gain thorough knowledge of all Bell products, their related packaging, marking requirements and proper packaging procedures.
12. Ensure unused products are removed from the production floor.
13. Punch in and report to the previous shifts’ Material Handler 10 minutes prior to the start of your shift to ensure adequate communication for shift start up.
14. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Materials Shift Coordinator, Receiving Coordinator or Receiving Supervisor.
15. Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean department and work environment.
16. Be familiar with and follow safety rules and procedures including safety wear and emergency procedures.
17. Assist with the training of new personnel.
18. Perform overtime and other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: One to two years of previous warehouse manufacturing experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to read detailed instructions and keep legible and accurate receiving records is required. Basic math skills and good organizational skills required. Good verbal communication skills are required. Frequent contacts and discussions are required with all levels of management, employees and outside suppliers. Flexibility, diplomacy and initiative are necessary. Ability to work under minimum supervision. Must have a good driving record (a check will be performed on your driving license by our insurance company).
EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Forklift, pallet-jacks (manual and electric), cardboard and trash compactor, bailer, pick up and straight truck, loading dock lifts, and scales.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently/100 pounds occasionally is required.
