Job Title: Slitter Operator
Job Description
The candidate will work in a clean room area for the manufacturing of resistant film for circuit board manufacturing. The film must be kept free from dust and debris. The candidate will be cross-trained in material handler capabilities and should have experience in shipping and receiving. The ability to measure products is essential as measuring equipment is constantly used.
Responsibilities
Operate a slitter machine, the final step in the production process after the film goes through the coating process.
Load couple hundred-pound rolls of film onto the machine where they are cut down into 40-pound size rolls.
Use a forklift to transport film rolls and place them on the machine; feed film and set parameters for slitting runs.
Monitor equipment and troubleshoot any HMI errors or mechanical malfunctions.
Work closely with one helper to load raw materials onto the machine and unload the final product.
Work in a cooler, cleanroom environment and at a very fast pace to meet production goals.
Operate label machine and computer for inventory tracking.
Document all product runs.
Assist helper in sliding completed rolls into sleeves for packaging operations.
Lift up to 40 lbs repeatedly and stand for 8-10 hour shifts.
Place rolls on conveyor belt, which is about waist to chest high.Essential Skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to measure for quality purposes.
Previous machine operation experience.
Slitter or saw operator experience.
Ability to read pressure gauges.
Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, and division.
Ability to read bar graphs for data collection.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to move to an area that is resin and chemical-based for short periods.
Willingness to work overtime as assigned.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The facility is smaller with 32 employees, offering a cleanroom and general manufacturing environment. The clean room is maintained at a comfortable 66 degrees. Employees work five days a week, from 3:00 PM to 12:30 AM. The warehouse where products are received and shipped may not be temperature controlled.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Chesterfield, Virginia.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
