Job Title: Fitter/Fabricator
Job Description
We are currently seeking skilled Fitters/Fabricators to join our team in Richmond. You will be responsible for laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting together fabricated parts according to blueprint and layout specifications. Additionally, you will be trained to operate overhead cranes and use cutting and heating torches properly. Your role will involve performing complex heat corrections, checking camber and sweep tolerances of beams and steel shapes, making necessary corrections while adhering to pertinent codes and specifications. You will also set up complex jigs or assemblies, identify and correct potential hazards, interpret complex documents, and perform daily cleaning and maintenance of your work area.
Responsibilities
Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts according to blueprint and layout specifications.
Operate overhead cranes and use cutting and heating torches properly.
Perform complex heat corrections, check camber and sweep tolerances of beams and steel shapes, and make necessary corrections while adhering to pertinent codes and specifications.
Set up complex jigs or assemblies.
Identify and correct potential hazards.
Interpret complex documents.
Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of work area.Essential Skills
Experience in structural fabrication (1-2 years).
Ability to read blueprints.
Proficiency in welding dual shield, MIG Fluxcore.
Knowledge of structural steel fabrication.
Experience with torches and flux core welding.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with overhead cranes.
Ability to perform heat corrections.
Familiarity with complex jigs or assemblies.
Knowledge of safety protocols in an industrial environment.
Work Environment and schedule
You will be working in a 200K square foot steel fabrication shop on the first shift, Monday-Friday from 6am to 4:30pm, with occasional work on Saturdays.
Job Location
This position is based out of Richmond, Virginia.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
