Job Title: TIG Welder

Job Description

As a TIG Welder, you will set up and maintain welding equipment, perform TIG and/or MIG welding in accordance with supplied instructions, and use fixtures or table setups as necessary to produce the correct shapes and dimensions. You will work to tight tolerances, perform welding in the best sequence to minimize warpage and distortion, and may repair or rework parts to restore required tolerances. Additionally, you will assist in other areas of the shop such as grinding, straightening, and metal finishing to meet final product finish requirements.

Responsibilities

Set up and maintain welding equipment.

Perform TIG and/or MIG welding in accordance with supplied instructions including blueprints and precision sheet metal drawings.

Use fixtures or table setups as necessary using clamps or angle plates to produce the correct shapes and dimensions.

Work to tight tolerances and minimize warpage and distortion.

Repair or rework parts to restore to required tolerances after warpage or distortion resulting from manufacturing processes.

Assist in other areas of the shop, including grinding, straightening, and metal finishing.

Use tape measures, calipers, and other measuring gauges and equipment to check physical dimensions, tolerances, and visual conditions of parts for acceptance or rejection.Essential Skills

4-5 years of experience in TIG welding.

Proficiency in TIG welding with a focus on aesthetics and clean welds with focus on aesthetics/minimizing amount of finishing work needed.

Experience welding on sheet metal or thin gauge metals.

Experience welding on stainless steel and aluminum.

Proficient in using tape measures and precision measuring tools to tight tolerances.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Additional Skills & Qualifications

CWI certification is not required but highly desirable. (This will give candidates eligibility for higher pay rates)

Open to CWI training and further certification in AWS D17.1 (Aerospace).

AWS certifications D1.1 and D17.1 are beneficial.Why Work Here?

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Southern York County, Pennsylvania.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
