Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Sacramento, California. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with a proven ability to manage complex financial systems and processes.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee financial reporting, audits, tax preparation, and treasury management to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Supervise and manage accounting staff, ensuring the effective maintenance of financial and accounting systems.
• Lead the month-end close process and prepare accurate financial reports.
• Handle monthly and quarterly contract reimbursements and cost allocation schedules for shared program costs.
• Manage the allocation of private grant restrictions and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
• Develop and oversee quarterly and annual budgets and forecasts for all programs and departments.
• Collaborate with Human Resources to review, approve, and provide secondary support for payroll processing.
• Coordinate and prepare for financial, state, and government audits.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization's financial goals.• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and advanced knowledge of accounting principles.
• Strong expertise in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Demonstrated experience with auditing and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
• Familiarity with budget processes, including preparation and monitoring.
• Proven ability to manage month-end and year-end closings.
• Experience in financial reporting and grant accounting.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
