Job Title: Saw Operators & CNC Operators needed

Job Description

The Saw Operator is responsible for utilizing machines in the service center to cut materials using one or more plate and bar saws. This role involves working in a non-climate controlled environment, cutting metals down to order specifications, including aviation and marine grade metals. The operator will use band saws and metal saws and will move material with a forklift.

Responsibilities

Become an expert in the mechanical operation of one or more saws in the service center.

Process orders according to customer cut-to-size specifications.

Ensure orders are processed per specification and on time without exception.

Pull and stage material to be processed at the saw.

Retrieve material from the plate racks using a fork truck.

Measure material to exact specifications for data entry into the computer.

Safely and properly operate cranes, fork trucks, and apply safe rigging.

Assist in the packaging and receiving of shipments and in weekly inventory cycle counts.

Use precision tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers, and calipers.

Keep the immediate work area clean and organized throughout the day.

Adhere to safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.

Follow all handbook policies and procedures.Essential Skills

High school diploma or equivalent

Two or more years of related experience or training working with saws and/or machinery

One or more years in the metals service center industry

Basic Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Good written and oral communication skills

Good organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills

Ability to measure using different tools

Ability to read and calculate numbers and data

Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction

Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers

Strong work ethic; self-motivatedAdditional Skills & Qualifications

One or more years of experience in the metals service center industry

1+ years of manufacturing/warehouse material handling/forklift experience

6+ months of operating any kind of machines in a production/manufacturing facilityWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is not climate controlled but is comfortable with heaters in the winter and large fans in the summer. The warehouse doors are opened to enhance ventilation. The role involves standing, using hands or fingers to handle or feel, reaching with hands or arms, kneeling, crawling, twisting, balancing, bending, climbing, and talking or hearing for most of the time. You will need to lift weights up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally, as well as push and pull weights between 25-50 pounds regularly.

This is a Permanent position based out of Wichita, Kansas.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $45760.00/yr.
