Job Description

Candidates will be responsible for stacking and keeping glass racks full of product and performing basic pultrusion machine operations. You will work with fiberglass in three different areas: lifting 30 - 50 lbs, machine operating (pultrusion) with lifting 20 - 40 lbs, and cutoff with lifting up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

Stack and keep glass racks full of product.

Perform basic pultrusion machine operations.

Work with fiberglass in various capacities including lifting and handling materials.

Operate machinery including pultrusion equipment.

Perform cutoff operations requiring heavy lifting up to 80 lbs.Essential Skills

6-12 months of consistent work history in any given field

At least 3 years of manufacturing experience with 1 year consistently at one job

Farmhand experience is beneficial

We offer three raises within the first year (at 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year) ranging from $0.50 to $1.00 per hour.

Work Environment

The work environment requires constant standing, moderate to heavy lifting (up to 80 lbs depending on the department), and bending. You will be exposed to noise, dust, fiberglass, and resin chemicals due to the manufacturing process. The pultrusion area has a potent smell similar to acetone. Safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection are required. It is suggested to wear jeans and a long-sleeve shirt due to the fiberglass. Plastic sleeves are provided for additional protection. AFP offers a $40 boot voucher that will be repaid on the first paycheck. The team size is around 40 people per shift on weekdays and 20 people per shift on weekends. Training will be on the 1st or 2nd shift for the first few weeks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LA CROSSE, Wisconsin.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
