Grace Hebert Curtis Architects, LLC (GHC) is looking to add an experienced Senior Architect or Senior Designer with expertise in Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) to our Lafayette team. As a Senior Architect on the GHC Team, you will:
Quality Assurance/Quality Control: Develop and implement QA/QC procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and building codes. Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor construction activities and materials for quality and adherence to design documents.
Construction Administration: Oversee and manage the construction phase, conducting site visits and ensuring that the construction aligns with approved plans and specifications. Collaborate with the project team, including architects, contractors, and consultants, to resolve construction-related issues promptly.
Document Review: Review and approve contractor submittals. Evaluate Requests for Information (RFIs) and provide timely responses to address design-related questions during construction.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of construction activities, inspections, and QA/QC processes. Generate regular reports on construction progress, issues, and resolutions for project stakeholders.
To join us, you should have:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
10-15 years of experience
Thorough knowledge of construction techniques, building materials, methods, and best practices
Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Exceptional organization, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and time management skills
Well-versed in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
