Job Description
Mechanical or Chemical Senior Engineer
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for all engineering design deliverables of assigned projects, including technical leadership, project management, and detailed mechanical design work, for all new and existing projects that require process facility development. Utilizing exceptional technical and project management skills, the Senior Engineer will develop, empower, and engage teams to solve meaningful problems and develop innovative solutions that drive customer value.
Proactive self-motivation, organization, communication, and team leadership skills will be critical for success in this role.
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare and modify P&IDs, as well as design plant and equipment configuration, in conjunction with other disciplines and customer directives
Prepare and modify construction specifications related to all mechanical equipment and associated equipment
Interpret design requirements and provide innovative engineering solutions while incorporating safety, cost effectiveness, and serviceability concepts
Perform load calculations with industry software
Interpret and provide technical expertise in the various codes governing design and plant operations, including but not limited to, SMACNA, ASHRAE, OSHA, ICC, and NFPA, etc.
Conduct field verifications, prepare technical narratives related to scope of work and operational specifications
Provide management and other project stakeholders with information regarding project status and possible design conflicts
Mentor and guide junior engineering staff
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
At least 8 years of Industrial Mechanical or Chemical Engineering experience
Professional Engineering license with the ability to gain reciprocate licenses in other states
Proficiency in design and calculation software
Knowledge of industry standards and accompanying policies and procedures
Exceptional team skills with the ability to communicate up as well as across the organization
