Description
• Build and assemble prototype network and server racks according to engineering specifications.
• Perform complex cabling of network and server racks, ensuring high standards of quality and organization.
• Support server-level prototype builds, including system integration and troubleshooting.
• Prepare builds for customer Test Rack Inspection (TRI) and First Article Inspection (FAI), ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
• Assist with completing tasks associated with TRI and FAI including serviceability and mechanical verification.
• Identify and communicate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and end user serviceability challenges during the prototype build process.
• Rework prototype builds based on customer feedback and engineering design changes.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product development, and quality teams to ensure seamless execution of prototype builds.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following safety procedures and best practices at all times.
• Document build processes, issues, and resolutions to aid in future builds and design improvements.
• Knowledge of network configurations and server hardware.
• Familiarity with customer test rack inspections and FAI processes.
• Hands-on experience with reworking prototypes based on feedback and iterative design changes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 3+ years of experience in a hardware technician role, preferably with experience in building and cabling server/network racks and server level builds.
• Strong understanding of prototype build processes, cabling techniques, and DFM principles.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering schematics, blueprints, and build instructions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs).
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
