Software Engineer

6+ months of contract

remote

$55 to $65/hr on w2 (depends on exp)

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to design and build back-end services that support a portfolio of data-centric clinical and analytic applications. These applications leverage modern technologies such as cloud computing, big data, mobile, data science, data warehousing, and machine learning, using state-of-the-art software development tools and frameworks.

As a Software Engineer, you will ensure that cloud-based microservices meet uptime and accuracy targets, are resilient, and scale as data volumes and traffic grow. You will work closely with data engineering, platform, and solutions teams to develop applications that deliver value to both users and stakeholders.Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, and Architects to translate requirements into code.

Develop services related to data warehousing, big data, cloud computing, business intelligence, analytics, and machine learning.

Participate in DevOps, Agile, continuous development, and integration processes.

Program in high-level languages such as Go, Python, Java, etc.

Work on deployment automation and configuration management with tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Azure Pipelines, CloudFormation, and Terraform.

Maintain accurate documentation of processes and source code.

Communicate effectively with peers, leadership, and stakeholders across the organization.

Participate in expert-level troubleshooting and resolve issues through root cause analysis and system investigation.Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency with a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud-based services.

Experience with Google Cloud and Azure environments.

Knowledge of databases, analytics, big data systems, and business intelligence products.

Experience building high-performance, highly available, and scalable distributed systems.

Experience developing software for healthcare or related industries.Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 1 year of software engineering experience (internships acceptable) or 2+ years of experience coding applications or services in high-level languages (e.g., C, C++, Golang, Java, C#).

Strong problem-solving and time management skills.

Proficiency with modern application development frameworks and practices.

Knowledge of full SDLC best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, version control, build processes, testing, and operations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with Agile software development methodologies.Full Stack Developer – Angular + Java Spring Boot

We are also looking for a skilled Full Stack Developer with experience in building and maintaining n-tier applications. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in modern Angular for the frontend and Java Spring Boot for the backend, with strong experience in database development and API integration.Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Angular and Java Spring Boot.

Build responsive, high-performance UI components using Angular, TypeScript, and NgRx/Redux.

Develop RESTful APIs with Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA, ensuring seamless frontend-backend integration.

Implement secure authentication using OAuth 2.0.

Design and optimize MS SQL Server databases using JDBC.

Use Liquibase for database versioning and schema migrations.

Write unit and integration tests for frontend (Angular/Jasmine/Karma) and backend (JUnit).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in code reviews, and follow SDLC best practices.Required Skills & Experience:

Frontend:

Angular (recent versions), TypeScript, NgRx/Redux

CSS/SCSS for responsive UI

Backend:

Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA

Maven, REST APIs, Swagger documentation

OAuth 2.0 authentication

Database:

MS SQL Server, JDBC, query optimization

Liquibase for schema migrations

Testing & Dev Practices:

Unit testing (JUnit for Java, Jasmine/Karma for Angular)

Debugging, troubleshooting, clean code practices

Agile development experience is a plus
