Employment Type: Full-Time Direct Hire
Salary: $90,000–$110,000 (based on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Are you a process-driven engineer with a passion for driving results on the production floor? This is your chance to make a serious impact at a fast-growing manufacturing operation in a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility.
We’re seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. This is more than a behind-the-desk role — you'll be on the floor collaborating with operators, troubleshooting new automation equipment, and spearheading continuous improvement (CI) and capital projects from concept to completion. You'll be working closely with upper management and plant leadership, and your ability to take initiative and solve real-time problems will be your biggest asset.
Why You’ll Love This Role:
Join a booming business in an exciting growth phase
Brand-new facility packed with new automation tech
Direct access to decision-makers and leadership
Major ownership of plant-wide CI initiatives
Strong benefits including 401K match, competitive PTO, and employee profit-sharing opportunities
What You’ll Do:
Drive CI and Lean Manufacturing projects across two local facilities (both in Des Plaines)
Reduce setup times and optimize production processes across injection molding and plastic extrusion operations
Assist in commissioning and implementing automation and capital equipment (CAPEX)
Work with data and reporting to support a new ERP system implementation
Serve as the go-to problem solver for all things process-related on the manufacturing floor
Collaborate cross-functionally with technicians, operators, and plant leadership
What We’re Looking For:
Must-Haves:
3–5+ years in a manufacturing or CI-focused engineering role
Proven ability to lead process improvement projects in a production environment
Strong hands-on experience with automation, mechanical, and electrical systems
Confident communicator who can identify process issues, propose solutions, and own outcomes
Engineering degree preferred (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, etc.)
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience with injection molding or plastic extrusion
CAPEX project experience (equipment implementation, commissioning, etc.)
Lean Six Sigma certification or strong knowledge of Lean/CI principles
ERP experience, especially with system upgrades or data support
If you’re a hands-on, driven engineer who loves solving problems, streamlining operations, and working closely with the floor — this is your kind of role. Get in on the ground floor of a growing operation and build a long-term career with leadership visibility and impact from day one.
