Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant plays a vital role in managing the daily financial operations related to Banking, Trust, and Accounts Payable, while also ensuring accurate and timely billing and collections in partnership with the regional Staff Accountant. Key responsibilities include processing employee expense reports, maintaining organized electronic filing systems, and overseeing critical financial balances such as Unapplied Funds, Trust Accounts, and Work In Progress (WIP).
This role provides essential support to the CFO in rolling out new financial technologies and procedures and serves as the primary liaison for bank-related matters, including ACH and wire transfers. Additional responsibilities include preparing regular financial reports and managing sales tax filings for the New York and New Jersey offices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Minimum of five years of relevant experience, preferably within a law firm
Strong communication skills with the ability to address sensitive financial matters with discretion and professionalism
In-depth knowledge of financial statements, journal entries, and budgeting
Proficiency in legal accounting software such as Aderant Expert or Elite
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Salary: $100,000 - $125,000
Full-time
