This role is ONSITE in Carmel, Indiana.
A Cisco Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco-based network infrastructures to ensure reliable and secure communication systems. This role requires expertise in Cisco technologies, networking protocols, and security practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Design and Implementation
Plan, design, and deploy scalable Cisco networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
Configure and manage network devices such as Cisco ASA, route/switch
Develop network diagrams and documentation for system architecture.
Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Monitor network performance and resolve issues related to hardware, software, or connectivity.
Perform advanced troubleshooting of network.
Conduct regular upgrades and maintenance of network hardware and software.
Security Management
Implement network security measures such as Access Control Lists (ACLs), firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and VPNs.
Perform vulnerability assessments and apply security patches to protect against cyber threats.
Collaboration and Reporting
Work closely with IT teams to integrate Cisco solutions with existing systems.
Prepare detailed reports on network performance, incidents, and improvements.
Requirements:
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Cisco technologies
Strong knowledge of networking protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs.
Soft Skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities for complex networking issues.
Strong communication skills for collaboration with teams and clients.
Ability to work under pressure in critical situations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
Certifications: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), or CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert).
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in network engineering roles.
