Job Title: Welder and Fabricator

Job Description

This position will work in a steel bending and fabrication metal shop. Most jobs are for structural steel projects using carbon steel; however, there are some projects that may require other metals and welding processes which is what this current opening will help support. We are looking for a MIG and TIG welder who is interested in a long-term role with the opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities

Perform MIG and TIG welding tasks on a variety of metals including carbon steel and stainless steel.

Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings.

Use industrial tools such as shears, grinders, and torches.

Execute precise fitting and welding tasks as per AWS standards.

Support the fabrication of structural steel projects.

Maintain and adhere to safety protocols in the metal shop.Essential Skills

3+ years of MIG and TIG welding experience.

Ability to perform basic shop functions in an industrial metal shop.

Capability to interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings.

Proficiency in using industrial tools like shears, grinders, and torches.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must be willing to join Local 516 Union upon 180 days of employment.

6G Certification or ability to get certified is preferred.

Work Environment

The position operates on a swing shift from 2pm-12:30am, Monday to Thursday, with initial training for 1-3 weeks on the day shift. The role is based in an industrial metal bending and fabrication shop. Weld tests will be conducted in overhead, horizontal, vertical, and flat positions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
