Job Description

Cheeseman Transport is hiring CDL A Dedicated Local Dry Van Drivers in Columbus, OH. Drivers will be hauling forklifts, tow motors and their parts in 53ft dry van trailers from Columbus OH to Wytheville VA and back. Compensation

Average weekly pay: $1,800

Pay based on miles and stops

Paid practical miles, paid for all miles loaded or empty

Stop pay: $15 - $33 per stop

Average hours weekly: 60

Bonuses:

Sign-on bonus: $1,500

Referral bonus: $5,000

Quarterly safety bonus

Paid via direct deposit weekly

Home Time, Route, & Schedule

Home Time: Home daily

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday

Shift: Starting around 5pm

Route: Dedicated route from Columbus OH to Wytheville VA and back

Level of Touch: No touch freight, primarily drop & hook

Equipment

Newer model Kenworth, Peterbilt, and Freightliner trucks

Automatic transmission

Governed speed: 68 mph

ELD equipped using Geotab

Outward facing camera

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must have CDL A license

Must have a minimum of 6 months verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience

Must have hazmat & tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain within 60 days of employment

No felony in the past 7 years

No alcohol related offense in the past 5 years

Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations

Must be able to pass a required pre-employment drug screen

Hiring Radius: Drivers must live within 40 miles of Columbus, OH.
