Job Title: Mig Welder
Job Description
Perform welding duties using wire welding GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding), or SMAW (Stick Welding). You will weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by procedures, layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, or oral instructions. Welds range from simple tacks to complex welds, performed in varying positions.
Responsibilities
Perform welding duties using GMAW, FCAW, or SMAW techniques.
Weld steel components according to specified procedures, layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, or oral instructions.
Execute welds in various positions, with a majority being flat butt welds and vertical up welds.
Collaborate in pairs to fabricate the chassis.
Work in the weld-out area before sandblasting and preparation for wiring and plumbing.
Set up and lay out work using fixtures and guides to repair, modify, or fabricate parts and equipment products.
Operate and use related equipment and tools, including forklifts, hoists, slings, grinders (portable & bench), cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, tape measures, and Air Arc.
Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturers' instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, and completing daily check sheets.
Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, blueprints, work instructions, and procedures.Essential Skills
Minimum of 6 months welding experience
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
Ability to read and work off blueprints.Additional Skills & Qualifications
AWS Certification is a plus.

Work Environment
You will be working the 1st shift, from 6:00am to 2:30pm, with possible overtime extending the shift until 3:30pm. The role involves working in the weld-out area and using various tools and equipment, including forklifts and grinders. The dress code is appropriate for a manufacturing setting, and safety protocols are strictly followed to ensure a secure working environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgman, Michigan.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
