Electrical Estimator

Job Description

Our client, a well-established electrical contractor, is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their team in Evansville, IN. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated individual to play a key role in delivering accurate and competitive estimates across a wide range of projects.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects including conceptual, design-build, and general tender work.

Accurately calculate materials, labor, and equipment costs using project plans, specifications, and proposals.

Review project documents to determine material and labor requirements and generate detailed itemized take-offs.

Draft and send RFQs to suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.

Use estimating software (e.g., Accubid Classic or Anywhere) to perform precise cost calculations.

Collaborate with the Estimating Manager to define indirect costs and overheads.

Support additional tasks and responsibilities aligned with company goals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred; equivalent trade experience accepted.

Minimum 2+ years of experience in electrical estimating within the electrical contracting industry.

Strong understanding of electrical sub-trades and scopes of work.

Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs with confidence.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); experience with Accubid Estimating Software is highly desirable.

Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Comfortable working with various stakeholders including internal teams, customers, contractors, and vendors.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
