Overview:

Our Act 60 export services company, based in the vibrant business hub of San Juan, Puerto Rico, is on an ambitious growth trajectory. We're seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to assist in our financial strategy and ensure compliance with Act 60 incentives, while contributing to a high-performing accounting team. This role also supports our family office and it's a unique opportunity to leverage Puerto Rico's comprehensive tax incentives to drive growth and maximize financial benefit across both corporate and family office assets. This multifaceted role requires expertise in overseeing corporate financial operations, financial planning, investments, and wealth preservation strategies.

Accounting and Financial Reporting:

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger updates.

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

Tax Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure compliance with Puerto Rico tax regulations, including preparation and submission of required filings.

Assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns and other regulatory submissions.

Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting standards applicable to Puerto Rico.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time.

Monitor collections and follow up on outstanding receivables.

Reconcile bank accounts and other financial records regularly.

Internal Controls and Audit Support:

Maintain and improve internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.

Assist with external audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analyses.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Experience: 2-4 years of experience in accounting or a related role.

Certifications: CPA license or pursuit of CPA certification is preferred but not required.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Language Skills: Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).

Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations in Puerto Rico, and financial reporting standards.

Personal Attributes: High attention to detail, excellent analytical and organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines consistently.
