Job Description
The System Engineer is responsible for the design and implement of reliable, stable and secure enterprise infrastructure solutions that facilitate key business services and applications. The expectation, visibility and accountability for this role will be held to a very high standard. The individual must be highly-technical with a proven track record for delivering quality solutions in a variety of infrastructure disciplines, including: storage, virtualization, distributed and cross-platform computing, messaging, collaboration, business continuity, application and system performance analysis, and disaster recovery.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Extensive Cloud migration effort and Cloud/hybrid architecture
Service delivery, upgrade lifecycle and Tier III support for the following core infrastructure services or applications: Cloud-based applications, SaaS services, Enterprise SANNAS,
Disaster Recovery setup, payment systems, support for SQL Server
Critical and Essential Tasks
Collaborate with other engineers, software development teams and with IT leadership to capture requirements, provide relevant feedback, analyze gaps and design service solutions that ensure the very best in quality, performance and reliability.
Customer transaction and processing backend systems (Database Tier, Middle Tier and auxiliary services), Active Directory Core Services, SSO, OAuth2, Microsoft Office 365, Data Protection (archiving, backup, encryption) and Performance Management
Install, Configure, Test, Maintain, Monitor and Troubleshoot server software across hybrid Cloud and pure Cloud platforms, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis and repair of complex infrastructure problems. Recommend, document and implement corrective actions for permanent issue resolution.
Perform ongoing and on-demand capacity analysis for all critical services
Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation and off hour’s maintenance windows
Must not have a “It’s not my job attitude”
Requirements
Experience 4-8 years of hands-on relevant experience, including 2+ years on Cloud based systems (azure/OCI)
Education Industry Recognized Certifications preferred: MCSE, CompTIA, Linux+, Azure
