Position Overview:

The Mining / Crushing Supervisor role is located at our mining and processing site in Mountain Pass, California, approximately 50 miles south of Las Vegas. The Mining / Crushing Supervisor manages and coordinates necessary mining and crushing employee assignments in a safe and efficient manner to achieve established mine plan objectives within approved budgets, company guidelines and legal requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

Interfaces with various departments as necessary to successfully execute safe mining and crushing production along with heavy equipment projects.

Organizes and oversees execution of mine plan and daily maintenance interaction.

Taking part in developing mining / crushing policies and standards.

Coordinating operator development training with a focus on safety procedures, and methods.

Communication and tracking of maintenance work orders and production orders.

Oversight of construction & development projects.

Supervision of mining / crushing crew employees.

Troubleshoot and provide corrective solutions to any safety and production impacts.

Assist in short range planning and survey with timely execution clean up and site preparation.

Responsible for motivating personnel to accomplish company objectives.

Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

Plan and direct mining operations in a safe and efficient manner to ensure equipment’s operability levels to achieve safe production goals.

Collect and enter production data for reporting KPI’s, productivity, and performance

Review employee timecard accuracy, fix errors, approves according to payroll schedule.

Review mining / crushing activities and work performance to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state safety regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in mining / crushing operations or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Minimum 3 years’ supervisory or managerial experience preferred.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

High School Diploma required.

A Valid Driver’s License to drive company vehicles on and off property.

Desired Qualities:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, SAP.

Management skills, including recruiting, hiring, and developing team culture to maximize growth.

Ability to work with all levels and departments within the organization, including senior management.

Ability to work with internal customers and external agencies for compliance & controls.

Intermediate to advanced level of understanding of open pit mining operations and crushing operations.

Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.

Working Conditions - Our facility sits at an elevation of 4,700 feet. Employees may be subject to extreme weather conditions when working in an outdoor setting (heat and cold, wind). Work is at an open pit mine or manufacturing/chemical plant setting, which may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles.

Physical Demands - Manual dexterity; sense of touch; sense of smell; speaking clearly; hearing-speech range; hearing – all ranges; seeing, reading and comprehensions; seeing – distant/near; depth perception; color vision. While performing the job responsibilities, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate laboratory equipment. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employees must pass a full-face respiratory fit test. Employees must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work in PPE level C. These requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required of the employee.
